Recently, on my youtube channel, a guest introduced me to the riveting world of Nyaya darshan. And I understood it was part of the shad darshanas of Vedic nigamas. I became very curious to learn, at least a little, about all the 6 darshanas because I realised this would also hold the key to – the difference between Jain, Buddhist and Vedic understanding.
Jain Darshana: Due to my Jain understanding, I am aware of some fundamentally different explanations for the world around us based on ‘anoo’ or tiny atom like particles. I have never heard these mentioned in the Yoga or Vedanta philosophies. And now, I know where to look, to understand the difference.
Shad Darshana in Vedic Nigamas are,
Yog, Samkhya, Mimamsa, Vaiseshika, Vedanta and Nyaya.
Nyaya Darshan: Liberation through Logic!
is like the basic Vedic Logical thinking system I would say. However, it is a complete system. The claim is that one can get liberated through logic with this Nyaya system. Know more about this in my video:
Mimamsa Darshan
Some people don’t consider Mimamsa to really be an actual “darshan” or world view. Historically, this philosophy came about as a result of Buddhist logic and darshan taking over Indian sub-continent. Vedic logic or Nyaya system was almost at the death knell. Then a few illustrious folks came within the Vedic lineages and they changed the social dynamic. They brought back the importance of Nyaya shastra and they formed the Mimamsa darshan text which was more of a rebuttal to the Buddhist attack of Vedic knowledge. So, in that sense, it is not really created as a “darshan” or “world view” at all. But rather a social requirement of that time.
(Found about abt this origin of Mimamsa from this indepth video)

Beautifully written article on Shad Darshanas or the six world-views of Vedic Nigamas! The comparative view and spiritual perspective you gave is very inspiring.
I especially appreciated the emphasis on how Nyāya serves as the logical foundation among the six systems.
On my blog I dive deeper into Vedic logic (Nyāya) and try to relate it with modern concepts like AI, inference engines and simulation theory: https://vedic-logic.blogspot.com/
Would be glad to know your views on this connection. Hare Krishna! 🙏
